Paving the way to a high-income economy

The National Transformation Programme (NTP) was established in 2009 to promote inclusive and sustainable socioeconomic growth with the objective of transforming Malaysia into a high-income nation.

The NTP was driven by the National Key Results Areas (NKRA), National Key Economic Areas (NKEA) and Strategic Reform Initiatives (SRI).

In order to accelerate the delivery of results in both social and economic areas, Malaysia adopted the 8-step Methodology to develop the National Transformation Programme (NTP).
