In June 2014, the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated into two new states – Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, triggering a series of challenges that need to be addressed immediately.

Seeing it as an opportunity to also redefine the state’s development agenda, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu set an ambitious target of being the best state in India by 2029 and the best destination in the world by 2050.

Starting in 2016, PEMANDU supported the Andhra Pradesh government by facilitating a series of labs aimed at improving several key areas of the state, and implement structural changes, where necessary.
