Ku is our in-house subject matter expert for Palm Oil and Rubber, having spearheaded the Palm Oil & Rubber NKEA under the Malaysian National Transformation Programme (NTP). In addition, he also helmed the ETP Investment & Innovation portfolios.

During his tenure as a NTP Director, Ku worked with the Ministry of Plantation Industries & Commodities, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board and the Malaysian Rubber Board to transform the sectors. For ETP Investment, Ku worked with various investment agencies to coordinate, track and report investment as a permanent member on the Investment Committee Meeting. His involvement in the Innovation area included working with Agensi Inovasi Malaysia (AIM), to inculcate an innovation-driven economy which would contribute towards a high-income Malaysia.

Additionally, Ku was an alternate member of the National Export Council and AIM General Council, and a member of the AIM Investment Committee on Equity, the National Graphene Action Plan Steering Committee, Current Account Committee and the Construction Industry Transformation Programme Ministerial Committee.

Beyond Malaysian agencies, Ku dealt with multi-lateral organisations, such as the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, the international rating agencies and the investment community in an investor relations capacity. He has also co-authored a Harvard Business School case study on the ETP published in late 2012.

Ku holds insights in direct investment & investor relations, fiscal management and strategic communications, and is experienced across multiple vertical sectors, with emphasis on agri-commodities. He has international business exposure in regions such as ASEAN, South Asia, Africa, Middle East and Latin America.

Prior to PEMANDU, Ku served FleishmanHillard, a global leading communication consultancy and last held the position of Managing Director for Southeast Asia where he was responsible for the Kuala Lumpur, Manila and Jakarta offices.

Ku graduated with a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of London and holds the Certificate of Legal Practice. He is a Fellow and former Vice President of the Public Relations & Communications Association of Malaysian (PRCA Malaysia).
