Ziad has enjoyed a diverse career in both the public and private sectors; the organisations he has served include Schlumberger Business Consulting, Ekuiti Nasional Berhad (Ekuinas), and Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas). In his private equity and consulting career, Ziad has engaged in analyses and implementation across multiple sectors, including education, retail, oil & gas, automotive, plantations, logistics, and defense. From 2007 to 2009, Ziad worked in the Policy Unit of the Prime Minister’s Office, serving as Special Officer to the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Ziad Hafiz Razak currently leads the implementation of the National Transformation Programme (“NTP”), a 10-year large-scale programme which aims to transform Malaysia into a developed high-income nation by the year 2020. In this role, Ziad is responsible for the overall programme management for the NTP, as well as direct oversight for the following portfolios in the NTP: Greater Kuala Lumpur Urban Development; Urban Public Transport; Oil, Gas and Energy; Fighting Crime; and Anti-Corruption.

Ziad holds a Master in Public Administration (MPA) degree from the John F Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, as well as an undergraduate degree in Engineering from Cambridge University. In his spare time, Ziad reads widely (favourite topics include politics, history and literature), and supports Manchester United Football Club.
