Ziad has enjoyed a diverse career as a strategy consultant, a private equity investment analyst, a speechwriter, and a crude oil trader. In his private equity and consulting career, Ziad has engaged in analyses and implementation across multiple sectors, including education, retail, oil & gas, automotive, plantations, logistics, and defence. From 2007 to 2009, Ziad worked in the Policy Unit of the Prime Minister’s Office, serving as Special Officer to the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Ziad Hafiz Razak led the implementation of the National Transformation Programme (NTP), a 10-year socio-economic programme aimed at transforming Malaysia into a developed high-income nation. For his work in Pemandu, Ziad has also engaged and served clients in Oman, Qatar, and Vietnam.

Ziad has experience in both the public and private sectors – engaging in analyses and implementation across multiple sectors, including education, retail, oil & gas, automotive, plantations, logistics, and defence.

Ziad holds a Master in Public Administration (MPA) degree from the John F Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, where he was a Khazanah Scholar. He also holds a BA in Engineering from Cambridge University, where he was a Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Scholar and a Petronas Scholar.

In his spare time, Ziad reads widely; he enjoys politics, history and literature, and while travelling on the Trans-Siberian Railway, he completed Proust’s “In Search of Lost Time”.
